Ribbed hem band

Join and clean finish the side seams. Place short ends of ribbed band right sides together. Seam using triple straight stitch.  Press the seam open. Fold the band lengthwise wrong sides together and lightly press. Divide and mark the band and the bottom edge into quarters. Pin the ribbed band to the bottom edge, matching right sides together and quarter markings. Sew the band into place, stretching ribbing to fit bottom edge. Use a overedge stitch and sew it in one step
