Lapped seam
This seam is best suited for non-fraying materials, such as leather or fleece (and other synthetic fabrics).Transfer seam lines to your fabric using a water-soluble or other marker. Trim the seam allowance of the upper fabric back to the seam line. With right sides face up, overlap the upper and lower fabrics, aligning the raw edge of the upper fabric with the marked seam allowance of the lower fabric. Secure the fabric layers temporarily. (Using textile adhesive or adhesive band in case of leather) From the right side, topstitch the upper fabric close to the raw edge and again a presser foot width away.
