Holiday Greetings

Posted by Carina Thavelin

Creating your own personal Christmas Cards is a nice way to keep in touch with your loved ones for the Holidays.

One nice example is the embroidered card made for the Holiday Campaign. This was created using fonts from the 6D Software and embroideries from collection #456 Grand Endless Holiday. You can find the instruction on how it's done here.

I am working on these two versions for Christmas:

1. The picture above: Here I've used an embroidery from collection #478 Sheer Christmas and just attached it to a nice card. This way the receiver can hang the free standing lace embroidery as an ornament in their Christmas tree or window and keep it for Christmases to come.

2. For the second one I created a Christmas tree embroidery in the 6D Software. It was really easy, I just use a triangular shape as a guide and then digitized with a triple straight stitch. It can easily be created on free hand with a sewing machine as well. Then I added an embroidered star (from collection #478) at the top, but another idea is to add a star cut out in felt. It is fun to create card both in traditional Christmas colors like red and gold or something completely different in icy pastels.

You can download my Christmas tree embroidery here.

Hope you have fun creating your Holiday cards. You can find more inspiration for the Holidays here.
