Decorated Neck Pillow

Posted by PFAFF®

Travelling can leave you achy, not least with neck pain caused by dozing off at an awkward angle. That’s where a neck pillow can help. Use decorative stitches to embellish your neck pillow so you can travel with style.

What you need:

  • PFAFF® sewing machine
  • Clear Open Toe Foot (item no. 820916069)
    820916096
    820916096
  • Cotton fabric 2pcs 16”x18” (40x45cm)
  • Rayon embroidery thread for decorative stitches
  • Sewing Thread
  • INSPIRA® Tear-A-Way Stabilizer, 2pcs 16”x18” (40x45cm)
  • Fiber fill
  • Marking Pen
  • Neck pillow template (free download), seam allowances are included on the template.

Cut
Download the template for the neck pillow, cut out the pieces and tape together.

Fold the front fabric piece in half, lengthwise. Place the template on the fabric, with the straight line against the fold. Cut out the front piece. Repeat for the back piece.

Decorate the Front and Back Piece
Draw lines with the marking pen on the front and back piece of the neck pillow. Choose your favorite stitches or program a sequence.

Place stabilizer underneath the fabric. Snap-on the Clear Open Toe Foot and sew decorative stitches on the marked lines.

When the embellishment is completed, remove excess stabilizer.

Place the front and back pieces right sides together. Snap-on Standard Foot 0A. Sew together using the width of the presser foot as a seam allowance. Leave a 4” (10cm) opening at the back.

Turn right side out and press. Stuff with fiber fill and sew the opening closed.
