Stitches in embroidery mode

Posted by Carina Thavelin

Sometimes we forget about all the amazing stitches in our sewing machines. There are so many different categories and styles. Up to 52mm wide!

The really wide ones can be a challenge to sew straight but a great tip is to draw lines on your fabric and use the Multi-line decorative foot

If you have an embroidery machine, I would really recommend embroidering them instead. You can either just program them on a straight line in Sequencing or why not use Shape Creator, where you have a large number of shapes to choose from like circle, heart, flower and square.

A favorite stitch is one of the Maxi Art stitches. And for my next dress project I want to add the stitch as a subtle detail on the front yoke.

I created a sequence as long as my hoop,(260x200) and brought it into embroidery. Duplicated it to add another and placed them exactly next to each other, use the zoom to make sure you got the right placement. Add as many sequences as you need and then just embroider them.

You will get a perfect result without much effort. And best of all, you can continue with your cutting while the machine does the work for you.

I used a water soluble stabilizer from Inspira because I don’t want any stabilizer left on this soft fabric.

After you rinsed the fabric and let it dry, you can just cut your pattern piece. This is also a perfect decoration on smaller garment pieces like cuffs, collars or yokes.

There are several embroidery collections using this kind of technique like; 467 Fancy Fabric, 468 Sachiko Style and they can be used for both quilt and fashion.

The software Quilt design creator is also useful if you want to digitize your own scribble and repeat. Look at this gorgeous dress and toilet bag.

Now I need to continue with my dress! :) I'll show you later. Happy sewing

Hi Lucille,
We have free monthly projects published every month and they usually include a free download of a design during that month.
Last one was the USB Wall hanging published the 1st of April, so they work as planned.

When it comes to Vantage, this is a service provided by the US sales company so we encourage you to try to contact them again:

What is happening at Pfaff?
When do you post the monthly designs? I look at the first of the month and then throughout and they don't post.
There is also a problem with Vantage posting and I was not successful in reaching them for support. I hope this means that I will get an extension at the end of my subscription service year.
Thank you. I am looking forward to a receiving answers for the two posting problems and an answer to my subscription service question.

I really enjoyed learning about how to incorporate the decorative stitches in my machine into an embroidery design. I can't wait to try it! Thank you. :)
