Overedge stitching

Using the overedge stitches you can seam and edge-finish two fabric layers in one step Blindstitch foot No. 3 is recommended when sewing overedge seams. This helps guide the fabric and prevents tunnelling at wider stitch widths. Set the stitch width so the right swing of the needle stitches to the right of the pin on the foot and just clears the raw edge of the fabric.
