Open Toe Applique Foot

Posted by Debbie Lomas

One of the most versatile and commonly used accessories for your machine is the Open Toe Applique Foot.

This foot is designed and engineered to give you an unobstructed view of the sewing area. This makes it the perfect foot for applique and other sewing applications, where you need to see exactly where your stitch is going to be placed.

The extra-large opening at the front makes beautiful appliques quick and easy. The tunnel on the underside of the foot allows your stitches to feed smoothly.

PFAFF has two versions of this foot – the metal version, the Open Toe Applique Foot for IDT™ System, part # P82102130-96 and the Clear Open Toe Foot for IDT™ System, part # P8209160-96.

The clear view through the Clear Open Toe Foot gives great visibility and helps to precisely match rows of decorative stitching.

The Sewing Star Foot for IDT™ System, part # P8206540-96 is also another popular choice with sewer. The Sewing Star Foot gives you an open view of an area you are stitching, but also gives extra support to fabric. This foot is perfect for sewing wide decorative stitches.

No matter which style of open toe foot you choose, this foot is a definite must have in your sewing kit.

This month’s Foot of the Month project is made by novice sewer Sharon. Sharon makes a Dancing Alpaca Book Cover for her grandson using applique as the main sewing feature. Applique is a great way to add detail to any project or garment you are working on.
