PFAFF Zero Waste Sewing Pattern – Rainbow Hopscotch

Here is a fun Zero Waste Sewing Pattern. Make someone really happy by sewing a hopscotch in the colors of a rainbow! Smart construction makes it possible to bring wherever you go!

Upcycle your old scraps of cotton fabric, old shirts or bandanas into an on-trend Rainbow Hopscotch and know you’ve made a difference by reusing old clothes. In the illustration below you can see the approximate amount of fabric needed for each part. Threads and stabilizers needed are not specified.

Approximate finished size: 27”x91” (70x230cm)

To sew a Rainbow Hopskotch you will need:

     A. Cotton fabric for backing
     B. Non-slip fabric
     C. Batting
D-E. Black cotton fabric to “frame” the hopscotch
     F. Black cotton fabric for the part wrapped around the hopscotch when not used
     G. Batting
     H. Heavy cords
I-K. Cotton fabric in bright colors
L.-O. White cotton fabric for quilt and appliqués

How to sew a Rainbow Hopskotch:

1. Center non-slip fabric on top of backing fabric, placing wrong side of non-slip fabric to right side of backing fabric. Topstitch in place.

Tip: When sewing non-slip fabrics, it is a helpful to use a non-stick presser foot. Due to the special coating on the bottom of this foot, it‘s perfect for sewing hard-to-feed fabrics, like leather, foam, plastic, imitation leather and plastic-coated fabrics. Check out pfaff.com to find the item number for the non-stick foot suitable for your machine.

2. Sew pieces K, J and M together as illustrated below.
